About the job
We are kicking off an exciting 2022/2023 season across Tassal's Prawn Farms. We are currently looking for self-motivated and team orientated people to support our Prawn operations for the role of Aquaculture Technician, based at our Mission Beach Prawn Farm (Bingil Bay)
Being a valued Aquaculture Technician means you play a vital role to ensure optimal animal health. Working together as a safe team, effectively, with a one team approach resulting in supplying our premium quality product to the seafood market.
As part of our farming team, a day in the life of an Aquaculture Technician at our Proserpine site may include:
- feeding, checking, and monitoring prawn’s health;
- Farm record keeping; and
- General farm maintenance.

About you
- You enjoy working by the water
- not shy of physical work, with the ability to work in hot, humid and wet environments - capable and comfortable getting into water (ponds)
- attention to detail and ability to work operate ipads for farm record keeping
- drivers’ licence (manual preferred) with reliable vehicle to get to site for rostered shifts
- flexibility to work a roster that covers day, afternoon, night shift and weekend work - typically set rosters are in place
- forklift, backhoe, excavator, truck, licence/tickets (advantageous)
