About the team
Sydney Metro West is the city’s next underground metro railway. This investment will transform Sydney for generations to come; doubling rail capacity between Parramatta and the CBD, linking new communities to rail services and supporting employment growth and new housing supply. It is a program of epic proportions, which will bring together technical specialists, world-class technology and innovative ways of working.
The opportunity
We have an amazing opportunity for a professional and well-organised project officer or project coordinator to join us at Sydney Metro as part of the Project Management Office (PMO) team on a permanent full-time basis.
Based in the CBD, and reporting to a Manager, the primary purpose of this role is to provide change control support to the Sydney Metro West teams across a range of tasks. The role will require you to work closely with numerous functional groups and technical experts across the project.
The successful individual will also be involved in the following:
- Minute taking and facilitation of meetings within the project.
- Administer and version control change control documents by maintaining the current database, updating registers and maintaining archived files and records
- Respond to decisions made by the Project Control Group & Change Control Committee and communicate within a timely and effective manner as well as documenting and following up items as required.
- Draft reports for approval by the Manager to meet the requirements of the Change Control Process and the internal governance requirements of the organisation.
- Proactively build collaborative working relationships with Cost, Risk, Schedule, and other internal stakeholders.
- Undertake work to support the implementation of fully auditable and transparent processes and to ensure these are maintained and monitor the effectiveness of change control processes

About you
To be successful in this role you will need to have strong organisational skills and attention to detail, as well as an ability to prioritise and deliver tasks in a timely manner. In addition, you will need be proficient in minute taking, as this is a key component of the role.
You will have prior experience working within a large infrastructure/construction environment in a project control support or coordination capacity. Having well-developed interpersonal skills and great communication skills, both written and verbal, you deliver communications in a clear and confident manner.
It will also be highly advantageous if you have extensive prior experience with MS suite, more specifically Excel, and an appreciation of data analytics and creation of dashboards would be ideal, as well as a basic understanding of contract administration.
Your ability to use initiative and work with limited supervision in the achievement of project requirements, whilst dealing with multiple key stakeholder groups will be paramount to your success in this role.
Salary and benefits
