Summary of Job Description:

This full-time or part-time position is responsible for providing market access expertise across the Specialty Care portfolio and to manage the activities required in gaining and maintaining reimbursement and optimal market access according to local reimbursement guidelines and market access conditions.


Major Responsibilities: Manage all market access (MA) aspects of the AbbVie Specialty Care product portfolio for specific brand teams.

  • Product Specific Reimbursed Access
    • Assessment of reimbursement feasibility for new products/indications
    • Development of reimbursement strategies for new products/indications
    • Preparation of PBAC submissions including management of external consultants and to support negotiation with government for risk sharing activities

  • Strategy and Influence:
    • Identify access and pricing challenges and opportunities through environmental scanning to inform the brand planning and financial processes
    • Represent AbbVie externally if appropriate through Medicines Australia working groups or other bodies to influence and shape market access policies

  • Add value to Matrix Teams
    • Work collaboratively with other functions to identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement and access
    • Represent Market Access on Brand Team(s) and Early Brand Teams and contribute beyond functional boundaries to Brand Team strategy and goals (as required)
    • Contribute to Market Access and External Affairs team through active participation at team meetings, engagement in non brand specific policy and environmental shaping activities and sharing best practice.


Education/Experience Required:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Biomedical, Science, Public Health, Health Economics, or Business Administration.
  • Experience of PBAC submissions, negotiations and associated processes (or similar access environment)
  • HTA/health economics and outcomes research/statistics
