In this newly-created position, the Product Compliance Analyst will act as consultant to the business and facilitate actions to ensure that the Bank continues to meet our regulatory obligations and serve members’ best interests. This is an area of high priority for Heritage during a period of significant transformation, with business leaders eager to hear advice and insights from a subject matter expert – you’ll be able to hit the ground running and see outcomes very quickly in this crucial role.
- Ownership of the Product Governance Framework ensuring that the framework is fit for purpose and is embedded with the operations of the product team.
- Develop, monitor and continually improve the reporting and controls across Product to ensure the team are proactively identifying and managing product risk and compliance.
- Ensure product regulatory requirements (eg DDO, NCCP etc) are met, are embedded in operations and are actively monitored for ongoing compliance.
- Ensure that documentation of controls and testing is in place within the Product Governance Framework and can be clearly represented to internal and external reviewers.
- Lead internal and external audit interaction ensuring that findings are accurate and recommendations are implemented within agreed timeframes.
- Ongoing management of product risk and compliance issues ensuring that they are managed within the enterprise risk framework in a timely and effective manner.
- Advise the product managers around compliance and regulatory matters associated with their portfolios and assist in implementation as required.
- Support product team in planning and implementation of compliance related initiatives and changes.
- Act as the product lead for engagement with risk and compliance projects and/or remediation initiatives as required.
You will be an analytically-minded compliance professional with an inquisitive temperament, accustomed to working in a highly-regulated sector environment – bringing a combination of commercial acumen and strong technical skills to approach problems with critical thinking and pragmatism.
Sound communication, presentation and project management skills are also an absolute must for this role, and you’ll know which questions to ask to gather the information you need from your stakeholders and understand impacts to the business.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent / higher qualification(s) in Business / Commerce, Project Management or other relevant discipline
- Significant experience working as a Compliance Analyst or other risk management function
- High-level organisation, prioritisation and time management skills, with the ability to work across different teams on various projects and assignments
- Intermediate to advanced IT competency, including the use of Microsoft Office software suite as well as Atlassian Confluence and Jira
Desirable
- Experience and knowledge of the banking and financial services sector, or other highly-regulated industry, would be advantageous for this role
- Exposure to change management methodologies

Location:
Heritage embraces flexible ways of working for the successful candidate. This opportunity can be based in either our Toowoomba head office, Brisbane office or working remotely across SE QLD, with work from home options available.
Exceptional interstate candidates may also be considered, but should note that occasional travel to Toowoomba may be required to foster cohesiveness within the team and / or according to business requirements.
